Meet the Hosts!
A hosted trip is our most popular choice and these fill up very quickly. Imagine having someone you can talk to about all aspects of your trip, from what tackle you need to whether you need to bring a towel !!
Our hosts do not take an extra place on the boats, and will fish alongside you, there is no extra charge for our hosted trips.
Meet the people that make our escorted trips great!

Dave Lewis is an angling photo/journalist whose work has been published in numerous magazines around the world. Dave hosted his first trip, to Iceland, in 1996. Since then he has hosted well in excess of 100 trips. In total Dave has visited in excess of 100 countries, fishing in many of them!
Dave is an all-round angler who has caught many of of the worlds great species of sports fish, fishing in both salt and freshwater.
Notable captures include a 1,117lb blue marlin, and the first ever Mediterranean spearfish caught on fly. In January 2024 Dave caught the first broadbill swordfish on fly taken in European waters. Dave is a member of the IGFA Royal Slam Club for both Billfish and Salmon, and has been credited with two IGFA Inshore Grand Slams catching tarpon, bonefish and permit.

Jason Heenan

As our longest serving host Jason has encountered most situations that are likely to arise and has helped many anglers experience their fish of a lifetime.
Jason has fished and visited many countries around the world, from Argentina to Zambia and is definitely a lure fishing enthusiast and enjoys helping others prepare for the trip almost as much as the trip itself.
Favourite species is a difficult question but the top 3 species would have to be Roosterfish, Tigerfish and Golden Dorado.
Favourite personal captures would have to be the 100lb plus Almaco Jack that would have shattered the IGFA world record, the first Roosterfish that I'd been chasing for 3 trips and almost every one of the Tigerfish caught on the Zambezi, with bemused elephants and other wildlife looking on !!
Equally satisfying though is when somebody returns from a trip having caught their fish of a lifetime after taking my advice on location / tackle or method. It doesn't always happen, but when it does it's a tough one to beat fishing wise.

Kieren Faisey

Kieren is the youngest of the guiding team, but don’t let his younger years fool you, he’s grown up immersed in the angling world, starting off as an avid freshwater match fisherman and shore saltwater angler before sprouting off to many avenues in the fishing world, he has honed a great knowledge in many fisheries and techniques and he now spends his days as Captain of his own reputable UK charter boat ‘Unleashed fishing charters’ and guiding overseas, from targeting rare mini species, specimen hunting, sharks to big game fish he loves it all!
Kieren spent a couple of years managing/head guiding Panafishing Lodge so he knows the ins and outs on a hosted trip and will see you fit for your trip on all levels so you don’t miss an opportunity. Whilst in Panama Kieren furthered his love for Jig and topwater fishing, which is really up his street! When on the water with Kieren expect for him to exploit his watercraft and often create opportunities you didn’t even realise was there as he identifies subtle changes in conditions not everyone would notice!
Kieren's favourite catch to date was a colossal Pacific Cubera Snapper on topwater in Panama. His most memorable guiding experience was captaining for the 1st grander Bluefin Tuna from UK waters back in 2022. The list is endless of notable captures both for him and his clientele.

Lets Get Fishing!

Karl Bird

By day, Karl Bird serves as a senior Navigator in the Royal Air Force, having joined in 2003. He is command of a front line operational flying squadron, responsible for leadership, risk management and keeping personnel safe in hostile environments and high risk situations, expertise that he brings to the SFC team. Extensively travelled for both work and pleasure, he has fished all over the world, from the USA to the Indian Ocean. Karl has been sponsored by Rapala UK since January 2023, and enjoys all aspects of lure fishing, but is also learning the fine art of SPJ from the likes of Kieren. An enthusiastic, but average, fly angler he hopes to do more of this on future trips where the weather and venue allows.
The newest member of the hosting team, he has some catching up to do, but his favourite venue is probably the Pacific Ocean and the Roosterfish. Nothing beats watching that comb chasing down a topwater lure! His favourite capture is tied between a large Leopard Coral Grouper that would have eclipsed the IGFA world record had it been weighed, but this capped off the last day of an exception week in Madagascar, or a taped and estimated 58-59kg GT again on the last day of another Madagascar trip - he always leaves it until the last minute to catch up!
The most memorable fishing moment is probably sharing a double hook up on a 375lb blue marlin in Mexico which took two baits and an epic fight on a popping rod ensued, nearly ending both me and the other 70 year old angler! Bucket list fish remaining to be caught are peacock bass, swordfish and napoleon wrasse.
